Two of Chopin's most profound works back to back?

Interesting. thumb

I heard a terrific recital at Mannes where the first half was Chopin's Polonaise Fantasy, Barcarolle, and Ballade No.4. The second half was all Scriabin including Sonatas 6 and 9, Vers la Flamme and a few shorter works.

I'd absolutely love the third if it wasn't for all that Chopin.

I think the second one has the potential to be the best for me, depending on which PF's you choose.

The first one is incredible. I think it's the safest one, not knowing which Bach you'd choose for the second one.

1# for me, then.

I line up behind Pogorelich: first half 2 and second half 3.

Since you're playing, I'd go to all three.

But my favorite is 1.

Another vote for first half of 2, second half of 3.

I'm less familiar with those composers so would be interesting to hear them performed.

I always like to hear Debussy live. The Carter Panns seem interesting. And I would sympathize with however you cope with "Hammy."

So, #1

I despise Rameau from having studied him on harpsichord (and piano was no epiphany). But, that may have been more the fault of the mediocre instrument I had to pluck on.
