Does he really say "its such a f***ing good piece" in the demo video?

I re-wound to confirm what I thought I heard. It certainly sounded like it.

Full Kontakt required, and minimum 4-cores 2,4Ghz + 8Gb RAM....

Too much friggin reverb. Could be nice though - GUI has a novel look about it.

It sounds good but in addition to being quite expensive, it has very high minimum requirements. I don't know how many people have at least 8 GB of RAM. The 2-3 PCs/tablets devoted to music that I use have no more than 4GB. So I should use one of the 2 dedicated to work to use ths. Also they don't say how much space this takes on a disk, it might a lot according to what they say... So, well, mixed feelings...

Considering their Steinway 1969, which requires 5Gb on the disk for +/-9000 samples, this one should need between 25-40 Gb, maybe less if they have made the choice to convert the samples in FLAC.
It is acceptable for a dedicated pc since SSD tend to become more affordable.
But for me, the lack of a VST or a standalone version is a problem.

I don't quite get the 8gb ram requirement since it's usually determined by Kontakt and its preload buffer. So, if you've a fast drive (any SSD) it should be possible to dial that down somewhat, maybe even a lot.

A min 2.4ghz cpu would put me on the margin, that's for sure - maybe it's time to invest in a fast, cheap desktop. What is the price of the library?

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere on the page, though their mentioning "samples were carefully crafted at both pedal up and pedal down positions" don't leave much hope.
To me it looks like one of the "sound engineer"-type VST pianos: A lot of emphasis on sound, not so much emphasis on playability....

Huh? Requires Kontakt 5.3 or later, which runs both as VST or standalone.

I agree, a lot of reverb was used in the demos, but is adjustable. On the one video he used no reverb on the final example.

I assume there will be lots of demos coming.

Last night I sent an inquiry to them about half/continuous pedalling. (Didn't ask about repedalling, though). Waiting for a response from a real human.

Another thing not mentioned is velocity curve, although perhaps it's there, just not using the familiar terminology.

And you are correct. Playability, as always, will be a key factor. It does sound good though, and very shapeable and malleable in terms of tone, which is very appealing.

But that will be a problem for those who don't have Kontakt since it doesn't run in the free version player.

Contrast that with Ravenscroft (free UVI) and Garritan (free Aria).

Oh, I understand now. But those who don't have the full version of Kontakt will likely not meet the other specs either.

'Control over various (common) parameters.' ACD is fairly flexible, too.

Where I think it really stands out: Requirements and no standalone version! That really makes it a winner.

I wonder if the requirements are deliberately spiked up. Perhaps, as a subliminal approach: "If this monster requires so much power to run then it must be really great (powerful)." Me want now!

All manufacturers fail to mention the fact that if an SSD is used there's room for RAM mitigation. In other words, the bigger demands will placed on the disk; therefore, less RAM (than initially required) will do. If you're using a 7200 RPM'r then perhaps the full dose (in this case 8GB) is truly "required."
