A collection of piano and organ (melodian, pump-organ) related documents from the 1800's.

One of my piano tuning customers found a box full of these documents in the attic of her historic home (built early 1800's) in NH, all neatly folded and grouped by year.

I will be scanning and posting many of them as time allows, there are literally hundreds.

I also have these pictures in PSD and PDF formats.

Below are a few examples, watch for many more.
I will be adding comments to many of the pictures.

I like that some of them are signed by the owners of the companies that manufactured the pianos, in the 1800's.

Full size versions of the images can be found here http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/galleries/2396731.html

Or simply click an image below to open the full size version.

This group is from 1879

I find I can read most of them, but not all.

Did you try clicking on the picture to open the full size version?

Its refreshing to know they had similar problems with benches and "stools" as we have today.

If you look closely at the W.M. Furbush & Sons Invoice from 1879 you will see that they were located at 439 Congress St., Portland Maine.

Kathy and I happen to be in that area checking out a concert venue, so we stopped at ... 439 Congress St., Portland, Maine.

Click on the images for the full sized version (big pictures, takes a minute to load).
