So, I have been browsing piano cover manufacturers on the internet lately, and I have come to two of such: American Piano Covers and Vanda King. I have noticed that while they offer similar options (same in many aspects), Vanda King's prices were cheaper by about $30 or so. I'm curious: have any of you had experiences with either of these vendors? And does anyone know why Vanda King prices its piano covers cheaper?

Thanks!

I have no experience with Vanda Kings products.

I do get covers from American and they are superb. I have no reason to shop elsewhere because product/price seems optimum.

+1

When they develop a self cleaning one that will rid itself of cat hair, I will purchase it immediately.

We all enjoy this site and the information/camaraderie that it provides. Why not get your cover at pianosupplies.com ? Support Frank and this site.

I am pretty sure it is the exact same cover as Vanda King as well.

Thank you for referring me to Frank's other website. After looking at what he sells, I see that his covers are about 15 to 20 dollars more expensive than American Piano Covers. He also does not have quilted covers. I'm not trying to bash him or anything, and I think that judging from the pictures of vinyl and mackintosh that he has, they seem to be very good in quality.

There's some confusion in the company name re American Piano Covers, there are 2 such companies. I buy all my covers from and I quote their ad in the PTG Journal '' Piano Covers by Alicia, Formerly with APSCO. American Piano Covers ph. 973 246 9144 email knightwing710@yahoo.com. Notice how the photo of Frank's grand cover shows "side slits", which I would presume he includes as a standard feature. At the other retailers you mentioned, it's an optional feature that would set you back an additional $60-65. So, his may be a better bargain than it initially seems.

I find the side slits quite useful, as I can open the fly lid of the piano (with the lid otherwise down) and practice without having to take the cover completely off or crumple it up while practicing.

Thank you for pointing this out. After seeing that detail, Frank's covers are actually on par or cheaper than APC and Vanda King. I also noted that the quilted option comes "standard," i.e. at no added cost, while APC and Vanda King both charge about $60 extra for that option.

hey iO,

I've ordered several products from Vanda King and they were competitively priced and prompt. I have a quilted GRK cover which another piano dealer had ordered for me. I like the quality and the cotton underside. It's not that heavy either.

Slits get my vote as a "must have" option. With the slits, you can open the cover to expose just the keyboard. I later found this to be a very nifty, useful feature. As a matter of fact, I usually peel the cover back to the slit and fold it over once which allows me to use the music rack and still keep the piano covered. And I still have the option of opening the lid to the short or middle stick..........blob

I second the PianoSupplies vote. Price for what you get is on par or better than the others I've looked at.

Side slits very useful too, since you don't have to remove your cover especially with cats who will use any chance they get to jump on the piano when youre playing!

Here's a pic. Cat not included...

Hey,

I went back and looked through my piano purchases only to find I bought almost everything from pianosupplies.com.
