Hi i have a M-Audio 88 Keystation USB keyboard. I am using UVI piano plug-in into Garageband on a mac.So the USB keyboard goes straight into laptop.

Whatever i do there is a crackling, especially when they are mastered, it's quite minimal, and a bit more in the bass.

Its over every recording, i have bought new leads, and never used to have this problem

whats it most likely to be?

Is it there if you disconnect the controller? Is it there on headphones? Is it there with GB piano?

wasnt there on GB piano a year ago, but would need to recheck.

its not there if im not playing.

crackling is there through every type of player.

I did connect the UVI plug in as a live instrument even tho its USB, should i have added it as a plug in via Software instruments?

Wondered what is most likely wrong? Assuming the laptop???

Have you checked for clipping (red level meters) in all possible places? Within the plugin, on the track meter, and on the master stereo meter in GB?

Oxidization on the leads or connectors. Steps to remedy... Rub with cloth and Achohol. If that does not help, drink alcohol until sound goes away. smile

No real talent for the Piano.
