My husband faithfully curled his lip and baritoned his way through it. My daughter thinks we're either musical geniuses or certifiable, at her age it's hard to tell. But a Merry Christmas was had by all!
Yamaha LU101, Casio CDP220R. 1968 Mason & Risch 'frankenpiano' only the cat plays. It's where our musical journey began though so I refuse to get rid of it.

LOL! Sounds great! That was a good idea to get a book like that.

Dear Hugh, Thank you so much for that transposition! It sounds even nicer in Ab! Perhaps next Christmas, you could start a thread for learning a new Christmas carol every year for "terminally untalented" people like me! I may be short on raw talent, but I'm long on perseverance!

I'm starting lessons again(it's 54 years since my last)in a couple weeks, and I'm bringing the Peanuts book I bought a couple months ago and found too difficult. By Christmas 2015 either it will be in demand or my household will be sick of it. It will also be a heuristic activity for learning keys, chords, re-arranging, etc. Assuming of course my teacher approves of this part of my agenda.

I think it's SO important to play music you love in order to keep you motivated and happy. If your piano teacher doesn't get that, then boo to them!

I just learned my first Xmas song, Christmas Time is here, from a lead sheet adding my own jazzy voicings. It was a lot of fun.
