You got me. The word "physics" makes my antennae quiver in eager anticipation. I was preparing for a fascinating exposition of how sound wave interference causes the proton's three quarks to reverse their electrical charges. And then wondering if the two up quarks were replaced by two down quarks, would the whole particle become a -1 instead of the + 1 it is in a normal state of equilibrium. I am SO disappointed. But I can appreciate a good prank. Merry Christmas to all.

Festivus for the rest of us!
Die Krebs gehn zurücke, Die Stockfisch bleiben dicke, Die Karpfen viel fressen, Die Predigt vergessen.
Die Predigt hat g'fallen. Sie bleiben wie alle.

I'm really getting confused. Aren't Physicists mathematicians?
"Imagine it in all its primatic colorings, its counterpart in our souls - our souls that are great pianos whose strings, of honey and of steel, the divisions of the rainbow set twanging, loosing on the air great novels of adventure!" - William Carlos Williams

It's like a concert pianist who composes, but they're not "a composer"

I'm really getting confused. Aren't Physicists mathematicians? Weird thing about it, the way people divide themselves up. It's not just physicists and mathematicians, the applied mathematicians look down on the pure mathematicians for being too ivory-tower, and the pure mathematicians do the same on the applied mathematicians. There is a lot of math that physicists are unfamiliar with, and even for a mathematician knowing every field of math is tremendously difficult because math is so large. Physicists in turn look down on chemists as just studying a subset of physics. Something like this:
