On Casio's site there's an option to Register your new piano, but what are the benefits of doing so? Do any of you guys register your new toy?

I know on Casio Privia line if you register you get extra warranty time. From one year to three years.

All these years playing and I still consider myself a novice.

I register my new toys if there are goodies involved, like extended warranties, automatic entry into a 1:1000000 chance prize draw for $10 worth of accessories etc (I'm still waiting in hope.....).

So, I registered my V-Piano for the extended three-year warranty (now expired and unused), for which Roland got hold of my e-mail address and regularly sends me updates, including details of its new drum kits (which of course are just what I need to accompany my V....) as well as DPs.

So, if you're worried about giving out personal details to a big corporation (who will doubtless log them into their database for targeting advertising campaigns etc).........

Correct - some models give you extended warranties. The case of the PX-5S, if you registered with Casio USA you got a nice PX-5S sticker mailed out.

If you register with Yamaha you get not one peep of acknowledgment, other than you can log in and verify that you registered with Yamaha.

Any idea where I find the serial number? Online registration tells me on the back side, but the piano is up against the wall with a small gap. I've found a label down there but can't see a serial!

Maybe on the underside of the keybed?

Theres a sticker there but its just a duplication of the one on the back. Model number, CE, danger of death etc. Theres a string of numbers and letters but I'm not sure thats it, and a barcode on a white sticker but a scan draws a blank. (I have a bar code scanner on my phone)

I'm afraid I don't know, but I expect your dealer and or Casio UK will have the answer.

I found this on the box it came in. Im guessing that big bar code is the serial, either that or C54526 above it:

I'm pretty sure it's the number under the top barcode.

I've registered both my Celviano and Privia, so vaguely remember looking for the serial number. It's also on the actual case, somewhere - either at the back, or underneath, as well as being on the outside of the box.

Yea thats it, sorted. Filled in the questionnaire and I got "Thank you for choosing your piano in brown. (Its black!) What other finishes would you consider?"
