I usually can't help but manage expectations. I'm going to try very hard to not do that...or maybe it's too late haha!

I think you are all too modest. Being in charge of this event I have the privilege to listen to the submissions before making them available to the general audience. I'm generally impressed by what I have heard.

I have received lots of contributions the last couple of days. They come in pretty different formats and I'll have to do some editing work, but I hope that the end result will be ok. Your contributions will appear in arbitrary order and I plan to issue groups of 1 - 4 suites a day until we're all done. If I should miss or forget anything, please write me a pm and I'll fix it.

As you may see I have now published the first batch containing 3 suites. The contributors are AnneJ, Damon and Tim Adriansson. When I have received all contributions I'm going to make an index showing in which batch the different suites will appear.

I hope that this format is ok. I'm always open to comments and suggestions.
I'll try to post at least one batch every day. Some exceptions may occur.

I am sorry to say that I was not able to accomplish the Handel Keyboard Suite No. 5. I ran out of polish and elbow grease. I *was* able to do the others, though. And now, to listen to the e-cital unfold...

Thank you, Ganddalf! thumb

Have been gone 2 weeks on (overextended) family emergency trip, with sporadic practice on a digital keyboard...just arrived home this AM and submitted Pour Le Piano Toccata late. Have new recorder and all day could not figure out why a recording played from the digital recorder which was noiseless (except for all the wrong notes), had horrible honking rhythmic noise in the digital file when it was copied from recorder to computer. Finally tried disconnecting the mic cables (noiseless during recording) which somehow were contaminating the files when copied. (Need Geek squad and/or Exorcist).

Hope this rounds out our collaborative Debussy Pour Le Piano Suite. Other suites to follow if allowed...and if my recorder cooperates...I guess I'll still remain persona non grata...need C'bear's elbow grease, and Red Bull with Nodoz

I submitted mine, sort of. I usually record at the music store where I work, but they'd replaced the Steinway with a couple of Clavinova keyboards for kids' halloween concerts.

So I ran a bit of an experiment and recorded the suite on a Yamaha NU-1 hybrid upright. I'm hoping to get an acoustic piano recording later this week when they get the stage reset, but until then, I thought it'd be a good run-through and an interesting experience recording on a new kind of piano.

Yes, I just thought the same when reading all the comments! Good stuff, Ganddalf, thanks a lot!

Looking forward to listening to others' contributions. It'll surely give me some inspiration for what will be my next suite to learn and play! smile

I literally have not had a chance to sit down and listen, but I will definitely be able to later this week. Can't wait! Thanks, Ganddalf!

Thank you all for your comments about the arrangement of this recital! I'm glad you decided to participate and make this such a great event.
I have now published the second batch. I got a proposal that I should perhaps put all performances in a single "sticky" thread. While this will prevent too many performance threads appearing at the top of the forum the problem will be difficulties in navigating as comments come in. I try to make a compromise now with more than 3 suites in each batch. This time I decided to post only 4, because some of them are pretty long. I'm not sure if this is the best way to do it, but I hope it will work ok.

The third batch is available now.
I'm still waiting for a few late submissions. Hurry up, please! If you can't do it by the end of this week, you have to take hand of the publishing yourself.

Ganddalf, are you planning on "stickying" all of the various batches separately, just like you did for the first batch? Personally, I think you should -- there is a LOT of music in each batch, and the subsequent batches I'm afraid are going to get lost in the other threads unless you do. Just a thought.

Let me express my thanks to you, as others have, for organizing this massive "recital" so well! Personally, I'd like to see another themed recital of just "Theme and Variations" from various periods. And, no, I am NOT willing to be the organizer for that -- let somebody who has more computer savvy handle that!
