Hi i am new in this forum. I am searching my first digital piano. My level is beginner. I am from Argentine where many of the lastest models doesnt arrived or they simply are out of my budget.

My options for the moments are: Kurzweil MP 10 / Kurzweil SP-4-8 / Yamaha p105 / Kawai Cl26r --> just if it's to much better than the others because it's price is very high for me.

The portability is not a priority. (i read in Howard graham's guide that the stage pianos have a worst sound that the cabinet piano but i am not sure that it happens in that models).

greetings!!. Sory my bad english.

IMHO the kawai is better than the yamaha for action. Decent sound as well although the pricing does seem a bit high for it. Definitely stripped down feature wise which may not be a negative. Hopefully you can get a good deal on one.

It is generally (but not universally) true that cabinet pianos have better sound because of more powerful amplifiers driving bigger and/or more speakers. Through headphones or through an external speaker system, though, cabinet pianos have no sound advantage over a stage piano, and you do generally pay a bit of a premium for them for the cabinetry and the weight of transport.

As for the models you mention, I'm not familiar with the Kawai. For piano sound, I would probably take the Yamaha over those Kurzweils. For action, I'm not sure. I haven't played an MP10 and don't know what kind of action is in it.

I used to play Kurzweil MP10, but we sold it because I didnt like the key action (WizTech).

Tried Casio PX 750 in the shop and it wasnt bad.

I dont know your budget, but today I tried Roland RP 401 and I really liked the action. Cheaper but with the same action is Roland F-130 (less power output speakers).
Even cheaper is Roland FP20 I liked action too (for the price).

Good luck

PS: Now own Roland HP508 from July 2014 and Im really satisfied with actin, sound and the overal feeling.

Thank you very much for your answers. About those rolands even the more cheaper is sadly pretty out of my budget but the Casio PX 750 and the Casio Celviano ap 220bk qualify. I am going to try those and the Kurzweil and see what happen.

If that second (Celviano) model number is correct (220) then I'd stick with the PX-750. x20 series is older, the equivalent Celviano to the PX-750 would be the AP-250.

The kawai dealer here has the cl26. I personally liked it. However the sticker price was underwhelming (less than 100usd cheaper than a kdp90). Last night I did see an online price for it that is cheaper than a kawai es100 + furniture stand which is a good deal. Since you have access to one you probably realized how much better it plays than the yamaha p105.

I haven't played any kurzweils but from other posts here it seems like their actions are less pianolike than the other options available.

saludos, hermano

I'm from Brazil. Bought me a Casio PX-850 last year. Very good DP for a honest price. It's been quite a few years already that Casio dispelled their "toy keyboard" image with the excellent Privia line.
