Like a smooth shave.

It's much easier to bash a Steinway than it is to play one.

Cheers!

Renner did a study a few years ago that I think pretty conclusively proved that wooden-handled shavers still work better.

Would the piece happen to be called "A close Shave op. Gillette" I don't think so, but you might be right; I'm not sure. Perhaps it's a never published transcription of a scena from Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia! Cheers!

Perhaps it's a never published transcription of an scena from Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia! Largo al factotum would have been perfect! Gillett missed a clever tie in. (With Bugs Bunny Conducting!)

There are no pedal linkages and Bb is the only black key that's included in the rig. With those long transfer lever sticks, repetition must be quite slow. The long pull-up wires make the thing reminiscent of a spinet action. But all in all, I'm not sure whether it's CGI or practical. I'm leaning toward the rig being practical, but the track replaced with someone playing a real piano the normal way.

It is obviously a piece by Fred Waring that has just been discovered unpublished - Sonata #5 for piano and razors,
