At the Lisbon party we discussed whether the 2015 party should be in Italy or Switzerland. Because World Expo is in Milan in 2015, the Italy members (Casintaly, Sinophilia, and Torquenale), CarlosCC, and I felt it would be best to hold the EPP 2015 in Switzerland, and the EPP 2016 in Italy. So I am hereby offering Switzerland as our next European Piano Party!
It would be held the first Saturday of July (July 4), in Lucerne (Luzern). People flying in would land at the Zurich airport (ZRH). We will be formulating the details over the next few weeks, giving everyone time to plan their trips.
I am very excited about introducing everyone to Switzerland!

I am glad to hear EPP2015 is in the planning stages. I hope to get there on my way to Scotland so I will be watching this space.

We do not have any of those scary critters here, just lots and lots of cows. If you are afraid of cows or mountains, then Switzerland is a scary place.

Can I book Australia in for 2017 Then we'll have to call it World Piano Party! Well we are still technically part of the Commonwealth, being a colony of England you know! So that makes us sort of European lol. But World Piano Party sounds good to me. Cows and mountains are fine, it's the thought of listening to yodelling that scares me. Earlofmar you forgot to mention the dropbears! They make the poisonous snakes, spiders, crocodiles, scorpians, wild pigs & over-priced coffee look tame.

Love seeing all the enthusiasm for EPPs or should that be WPPs? It's on my calendar!

Ok, so let's search for "Lucerne". According to Google Maps website it's only about 45 minutes by bus from Zurich. Oh, and the city it's really beautiful, with a lake and some mountains surrounding it!!! Great choice! I've to explore this in detail: http://www.luzern.com/en/index.cfm

I am hereby offering Switzerland as our next European Piano Party! Terrific, Thank you, SwissMS. It is on my calendar and radar. I'm hooked now and will be striving hard to make it. Is there any skiing there in July?

Yikes!
Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, Oh My!
All places Kathy and I have on our bucket list to visit some day.
I love seeing Piano World being used to bring piano players/lovers together around the world. And I think it's fantastic that all of you are showing the rest of the world how it's done, hopefully sparking the interest of other folks.
Now if you could just produce a YouTube video that goes viral we might truly be able to reach out to people around the globe, getting them excited about playing the piano and sharing their music with others.
I can assure you if our finances were different we'd be at every one of your parties (provided we're invited of course). Let's see now, Kathy and I will both be 63 in a few months. If we attend at least one piano party a year, we should be able to get in at least 30 piano parties before we have to slow down :-)

With more than 70.000 members I'm sure there are some who can do a professional promotional video about Piano World and Piano Parties - unfortunately, not me -. I think it's just a matter of collecting materials (videos, pictures, testimonies...) among the members and do the work. Why don't you start a thread about it? I definitely need to try to make this one. But I never plan anything ten months in advance. Sorry about that. I'll keep an eye on this thread, though!

I'll try my best to be there!
Just today at lunchtime one of my colleagues mentioned Luzern (I did not know yet it would be the next EPP location and we were not talking anything piano-related); he said it's a really nice place and there is a great transport museum, the sort of thing that makes happy husband and kids.

The transport museum is FABULOUS!!! Boats, trains, planes - we were there for a few hours, and could easily have spent a whole day there. There was also a really nice staff member who gave us a demonstration of how a steam locomotive works! Your guys would love it.

Well, last year and this year I intended to participate. In 2015 I already know for sure that I can't go, since there is an upcoming major family event exactly on the date of the party. It's a pity, but I have to wait until 2016....

Glad to hear that Luzern sounds interesting to everyone! The train station is downstairs at the Zurich airport, and there is a train from the Zurich airport to Luzern every 1/2 hour. The trip is about 40 minutes. The Luzern train station is very near the old town, and there are a lot of hotels in walking distance. The town has very good public transportation, and it is easy to get around. The old town area is mostly level, and easily walkable. Here are a bunch of pictures to wet your appetite: http://www.tripadvisor.de/Attractio...ews-Old_Town_Lucerne-Lucerne.html#photosLuzern is the gateway to the Alps, and there are lots of easy mountain explorations nearby. One that is truly spectacular is a trip that goes by ship on Lake Lucerne, then a cog train up Mt. Pilatus for lunch, and then back down to Luzern by cable car. It might be something we all could do the day before or after the actual party. Here is a link: http://www.pilatus.ch/en/I am very excited about planning this. We are looking at several possible sites, and will start gathering information now that it is confirmed. Also, if anyone is interested, my piano teacher is a music physiology specialist. She has offered to do a free workshop for either the day before or after the party. She is a member of the International Musician's Health and Wellness committee of ISME. The workshop would be purely voluntary, and is her gift to the ABF community. I can tell you, she is outstanding at what she does. So, I will keep you posted as things develop!
