Hi everyone! My AMus exam is in a few weeks and I have a few quite specific questions to ask. 1) What are Lynette Morgan and Jerard Heffernan like as examiners, those of you who've had either of them before? 2) What are the pianos in the Clarence St studios like in terms of action and sound quality? Good luck to anyone else doing a diploma!

[1]No direct experience here, but remember that all examiners follow guidelines about how they run the exam, and there are definite criteria for pass/fail. Aim for a musically convincing performance and don't worry about a few flubs.
[2]All the ones I've played have been very good. There's a Shigeru Kawai in particular which is very nice indeed!

Oh and will it matter if my program is slightly under time? It is around 30 minutes including breaks but it has the potential to be a bit under.

Thanks! They're all grand pianos, right? Do you know anything in specific about Studio 11 Level 8?

The syllabus specifies 30-40 minutes. It depends how "slightly" under 30 minutes it is, I suppose. It's probably not a good idea to change your program now.

I don't recall the studio numbers. I'm not 100% sure if every piano on level 8 is a grand, but I'd be most surprised if they didn't give you a grand for an AMus exam.
