Please put me down for Nachtstucke Op 23 no 4

Also, I've noticed that in opus 23, the names designated to the 4 pieces have the alternative names of:
1. Mehr Langsam, Oft Zurückhaltend
2. Markiert Und Lebhaft
3. Mit Grosser Lebhaftigkeit
4. Einfach

Awesome I feel more comfortable with my choice now. Although I don't know about the singing (according to my very rude and misguided children I am tone deaf). Now if M just remembers to ad me to the list lol! wink

The singing is with no 4. and you're doing no 5. wink The choral (No 4) is actually Psalm 42 (Like a deer).

Hm - things have happened during my summer vacation. Generally I find Schumann rather technically difficult. However, I'll take some time exploring his music and see if I find a suitable piece for myself.

Let's see who picks from 68 since that is going to be very popular, and then you certainly can fill in whichever you'd like to do. Or, select one now so you have that for sure and can add more if you like once everyone's done with their first choices.

Sounds good. I'll leave Little Etude unclaimed since it's a fun and interesting piece for a variety of levels. And then I'll fill in what's not taken from 1-18 when all is said and done.

OK, I can no longer edit the first post, so I will be updating within the body of the thread as needed.

The Schumann Recital will be March 15, 2015.

We will be using the recital submission software that's been used in the past.

Rules:
1) Each person can sign up for one piece only (see Note below). Once everyone's selected what they want to do, then we will open it up for people to select a second (or third) piece
2) No duplicate entries are allowed
3) Submissions can be in audio or video format
4) It's not possible to do all of Schumann's music, but I would like to get all of Op 68 completed

To sign up, post in this thread which piece you want that hasn't already been claimed, and I will add you. This will hopefully make this thread a bit easier to navigate..

Note: I have tried to separate out multi-movement works where possible, so you could sign up for just one movement in a sonata. However, due to the large volume of music we have, if you wish to sign up for an entire Opus you may, as long as another person doesn't want to do a movement from that Opus.

OMG! This is going quick.

I still need to figure out what I will and can play. I hope there's something left when I'm done, 'cause this is gonna take time. frown

Nice work Morodiene!

OK, this is very weird. I think with the adding and editing and everything, things are getting lost. I KNOW I added people! I guess we will have to go back to how I started things, with you adding your own pieces. If we have to do a lot of scrolling, I think we'll live! laugh

I will update the list as best I can and post it in a separate post.

Please put me down for this one:

Op. 68, Album for the Young (Album für die Jugend)
- 26. * * * (untitled), F major

I learned this when I was 15. I doubt this will give me any headstart given how long ago that was, but it's a reason to go for this over all the others.

Could you put me down for this one:
Op. 68, 8. Wilder Reiter (The wild rider), A minor

Hopefully not much of a stretch for me, especially given the time frame.
Thanks

Done, and also for ajames while I was at it.
The first post still specifies the previous sign up method, but I rather suspect you are amending that as I type this, so I won't make so bold as to suggest that should be edited to give the new sign up instructions :-)

Have you decided how long you will wait before opening up the option to sign up for a second piece?
