Piece called the Terminal. I can play it except for the very fast parts.

In the comments section somebody says it sounds a like like Satie. I'm not overly familiar with Erik Satie, but does anybody know which Satie piece it sounds like?

I've scoured some youtube and Haruhi Suzumiya came up and I think I might try my hand at Satie now but a familiar piece which is similar to the terminal might be a nice hook to start on.

Looking at a few pieces it might strengthen my left hand considerably! It is still too uncoordinated for Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2

Thanks

I want to be so good at Piano like VK, that Roland gives me a free piano too!

It sounds nothing like Erik - not the melodic line, the harmonies, the piano figuration.

If you want a 'classical' composer that has a slight similarity, it would be Michael Nyman, though even so, no-one would mistake this stuff for Nyman either.

"I don't play accurately - anyone can play accurately - but I play with wonderful expression. As far as the piano is concerned, sentiment is my forte. I keep science for Life."

I kinda see what the person means about Satie (try the Gnossiennes) but basically this piece is structured like pop music: repetitive broken chord figuration in a repeating chord progression, with increasing liberties taken in the melodic voice.
Maybe try other pop or new age pianists for music with greater similarity to this.

Working on:
Fauré, Preludes Op. 103
Beethoven trios for an original ballet
Four-hands program of Mozart, Corigliano, Schubert and Barber
And... Nunsense II (whole show)

I love Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and new music
