Why would you put the thumb on the E flat, and then attempt to crossover to a white key with the fourth finger? Seems hugely uncomfortable.

Maybe if the passage was purely gestural at speed and didn't need clear articulation, maybe it could be more comfortable. Of course, there is also the lack of legato to consider, so the passage would almost certainly have to be pedaled.

It's just a possibility. One that's I feel is unlikely to be suitable, but everyone is different.
