Yamaha Under Warranty???

Hi, I recently bought the Yamaha P105 digital stage piano, upon playing I noticed there is a malfunction with key A4. I contacted Yamaha who confirmed they will repair the key but will take 1 month to 6 weeks to return. It's not possible I can wait this amount of time as I make a living from my music. the 105 is under warranty, could I not send the DP to a local piano technician expert who could repair the key and bill Yamaha under the warranty? as I'm sure this option would have a faster turn around time.

Not happy with Yamaha service

Any suggestions?

Well, there are other solutions. Can you rent another instrument while you wait? You certainly can ask Yamaha if you can take it to a dealer and have them repair it since you need the instrument and see what they say, but often companies dictate how they will fulfill their warranty terms. Definitely get the work done while it's under warranty, though.

Yes, as Morodienne says, ask the store you purchased it from to swap for a new one.

I had this issue with my Kawai MP7. Sweetwater sent me another MP7 and I swapped out the keyboards and returned the defective one to Sweetwater at their cost.

Ask the dealer for a courtesy piano suitable for the job you do. You might get something better than you think if the dealer has any sense!
