It seems to me that MOX8 piano sounds more realistic than CP4. Motif piano has 8 elements and 4 layers. CP4 doesn't.

Some say MOX8 sounds have a veil or blanket over it. I found a way to overcome it. Just turn up the volume slightly. And yes GHS keys means you need to strike the keys harder to trigger the louder layer sounds.

It is just me or do others feel the same.

I'm sure we'd all like to read about that information. Logic would suggest that the DP should have more than a workstation.

Unfortunately I don't have an MOX8 to do a comparison... Are you talking about 8 elements and 4 layers in the sample set or just the functionality of the two different boards? Are you using the add-on CFIIIS sample set from the CP1? The Yamaha page mentions it's been adjusted to sound good on MOTIF boards.

You might want to post this over on http://www.motifator.com/ and see what Phil Clendennin (Bad_Mister) says.

What are "elements"? I would suggest the CP4's piano will be at least four dynamic layers. But I don't get the elements bit.
