Seattle Area
As I push forward in my search for a forever Steinway, and focusing on the Model B (though looking at Ds if the opportunity presents itself) I have invariably ended up discovering Bruno Santo and his Red Bird Selection Center in Texas. This gentleman has apparently been with Sherman Clay in a couple of markets and specializes in reselling mostly late-model Steinway Bs, of which he has over half a dozen at his showroom in Texas. I realize I have to expand my search out of state if I want to make sure I've explored my options. For what it's worth, I have already booked my flight and am heading out to the Lone Star State with an open mind.

Here's what I'm looking for:

-General impression of customer service
-Details of personal experience in buying from him
-Impression of the quality of the instruments, including their regulation, voicing, etc.
-Thoughts on aftersales support, warranty
-Experience in visiting his showroom
-Constructive advice on what to expect

What I do NOT need:

-Any personal attacks
-Baseless speculation
-Piano sales industry politics going back to before I was born (I get a lot of this)
-Recommendations of other brands of piano

Please PM me if you do not feel comfortable responding on the public forum.

I would also like recommendations for an independent tech in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area who might be able to accompany me on one of the days I will be there.

Thanks everyone!

Cindy L,
You might want to PM Markarian since he hasn't been around here much lately.
I did speak with him (Markarian) on the phone about Bruno, and he told me his experience was quite positive. I considered a trip there myself but ultimately decided on a Shigeru Kawai instead. Had I decided to get a B I certainly would have visited Bruno.
