Has anyone used this work? If so, opinions on its worth, especially compared to similar Czerny, Hanon, etc. exercises?

If you do like it, do you recommend a particular edition? The Schirmer edition is ubiquitous, but I find myself frequently buying a piece in Schirmer and then later going to Henle or some other version -- if there's a better version than Schirmer's, I'd prefer to skip the middle step.

Thanks for any and all comment.

I went through the first couple sections when I was relearning piano a couple years ago. I thought they were a good thing to alternate with Hanon. Once I started playing a little better and could play easier repertoire, I haven't revisited them. They are nice because the initial exercises are quite easy if you play them slowly, and can get quite difficult in a hurry as you up the tempo - they are almost like tongue twisters for your fingers. They are also very easy to transpose. I think they helped. I was using the Schirmer edition.

I haven't used it but I just took a look at it. They look good, as good as all the other exercises of the same kind. I used Pozzoli, Hanon, Pischna, Dohnanyi, Brahms, Philipp... the most important things to do are:
1) practice a little bit every day but just a little bit ( 5 GOOD minutes, top)
2) transpose ( in the key of the practiced piece is useful )
3) change often ( avoid RSI at all cost )

Unless there is a specific reason ( notes, performance/practice suggestions, other) to buy an edition more expensive than the cheapest available, the cheapest is usually the best. Usually is the teacher that take care of all the important stuff... if the notes are legible and the paper doesn't fall apart, is all good.
