Great thread.

I've been making angular and rediculous gestures at the piano for many years and many people, not just pianists, have doubted my sanity. But, I know that if they would just stop noticing all my mistakes, they would like my playing much better.

Just remember not to take self-mythologizing stories at face value, unless there's good corroborating evidence.

That doesn't matter, just try your best in whatever situation you're in.
