I have a 1885 Steinway & Sons. 85 keys. 6´10 length. Serial number 50511. I want to replace the wippen and hammers, first of all. Do anyone know if its possible that the size of a new renner wippen and hammer are the same of my old ones?
I ve been watching few photos and videos that indicates they are compatible, the old and the new action parts.
I m not a technitian, I m a musician. The technitian who sold me the piano, dont really know very much about this things.
Also, I want to know how can I do to bring de wippen and hammers to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Last, I want to know, more or less, the price of this Renner components.
Thank you all dear men in the know !!!

New parts will not be the same as old ones. Your piano should have the tubular frame that will accept modern Steinway parts, either NY or Hamburg, the latter being made by Renner, and they should work well if you are replacing all the parts. There are other people who make parts for old Steinways as well. I think Renner makes some which are not sold through (nor exactly the same as) those sold by Steinway.

You would have to contact the supplier for pricing and shipping information.

You might be better posting this on the technicians' forum.

look at the picture of the side of this action machine. Mine is exactly as this one in the picture. It seems to have tubular frame. The three frames are circular.
