I'm trying to refurbish my 1924 Pease Player Piano ,I installed new balance rail pins and rebushed the keys.I also installed new bridle straps, stickler cloth, back rail cloth, hammer rail cloth, balance rail & front rail punchings. Now I want to work on the action, is there a sequence in the steps on the regulating prosses ?

pater57, since you are doing some fairly comprehensive work, I think it would really help you to buy one of the books. Reblitz, or Pianos Inside Out, or the Haynes Piano Manual. These outline sequences for regulation. Byt far the best is Pianos Inside Out, though it's dearer than the others.

I have to ask. How did you learn to do all that work without consulting a book that has the regulation steps in it?

Mark,I do have Arthur Reblitz's "Piano Servicing Tuning & Rebuilding" book.I was just wondering if others have a differant sequence.
