I am so confused about Rolands RD-700nx, RD-700gx and RD-700sx.

Which piano is better in terms of: key action, feel, velocity sensitivity and consistency? Which of these has the best keybed/board.

I have read a lot about the Roland pianos, but there is no clear answer on the forums about his topic between the three RDs. Some say gx others say nx, a few say sx..... I am so confused on the topic. FWI I don't care which one is newer, # number of sounds, #of fx, or any of that stuff.

It may seem obvious, but the 700NX is the best one, as being the newest, it should be. It's has the PHAIII action, supernatural sound engine so by far the best sounding acoustic pianos, and the ability to use Roland's Triple Pedals which is great for acoustic piano players. The action is the most consistent, the samples are by far the most even and natural sounding.

I would rate them by age from worst to best:

RD-700SX
RD-700GX
RD-700NX

The reason you cannot find a clear answer is that there is no clear answer. Roland would tell you that each one is an improvement on its predecessor. But it is subjective, and some people will always prefer the feel or sound of an older model. As a point of reference, The RD-700SX was replaced with the RD-700GX which was replaced with the RD-700NX which was replaced with the RD-800. Most people will probably think the newest model is best, but that will not be a universal assessment. The only way to know which YOU will think is best is to try them yourself.

You will only get the rd 800 and the older unsold 700NX new. So the other two will be used, if you see them. At a lower price. They may and probably will have been gigged so bear that in mind if you go down that path. There are user manuals downloadable which will give you an idea of their capabilities, too.
