My son performed this recently at a local music festival. He still has difficulty spanning an octave accurately because of his small hands.

What can we say? No matter how good or bad the playing is, you always have to give credit to an 8 year old memorizing an entire impromptu and performing it live.

So 10 for courage!!!

As far as his playing, even if it wasn't good I would say good job for such a young pianist. But he actually is good!!!

Can this impromptu be polished more? Sure! But that's not the important part for me. He displayed musicality and understanding of what he is playing. He also has some strength and bite in the middle section which you often don't even see in adults!

80 views not a single response on this forum. A simple "good job" can go a long way. Your silence is a bit insulting.

Wow!! This kid plays quite well. Not just for his age. Quite well, period!

My intent was not to demonstrate my math skills.

I happened upon this thread, merely because I wanted to see what had been said about this particular impromptu. Thank you, search ability.

To all who have posted on this thread, I do apologise for my silence. For some reason, the alerts/notifications for new posts are not getting to me and I have only just read the responses to my initial posting. Apologies if I seemed rude. Thank you for your comments which are appreciated.
