Hey gang,

Gotta question about my Kawai CA65.
Looking, please, for any thoughts.
I have some keys that are too loud.
I'll have to check again, but for example, I think that B6 and Bb6 are 2 of the problem keys.
They are way out of balance from the all of their neighboring keys.
Really bogus.
I see in the owners manual, that I can adjust the volume of individual keys. And then I could save the settings into a registry.
Does that sound like it will work?
I guess one thing I'm really wondering here, is should I have to do this on a new piano, featuring Kawai's GF action?
My next question would be this:
How does this affect if I am using a Ivory II American D, (or Ravenscroft)?
Thanks for any thoughts,
Charlie

Punta Alta, Buenos Aires, Arge...
This should not happen, I would try a reset to factory defaults.
If you want to see how it would affect to a sampled piano, connect your digital piano to a computer through USB and record the notes (and neighbours), then look at velocities to see whether there is something abnormal or not.

minstrelman,

The volume of the notes should be correctly balanced, however if you feel that some notes are a little louder than others, you can indeed adjust their individual volumes using the Virtual Technician function.

That said, it may also be worth contacting your Kawai dealer from whom the instrument was purchased to discuss the matter, and perhaps playing the store's CA65 to compare with your own.

Kind regards,
James

thank you very much James.
the notes are definitely not balanced correctly.

I have talked to the dealer.
they are many hours drive from here, so I will not be going there to check out one at the store.

I will try a factory reset. if that doesn't fix it, I'll try the VT function.

Pull out your CA65 from wall centering it in room and test again. If loud sound dissapear or change to other keys then you have reververation problems and piano is ok.
