Any reason I should now hold off on a vpc1 purchase? Not sure if there's any irony in your question. Depending on where you are, it could be double the price of the VPC1 - that's likely to be the case in the UK. If you've already got a decent laptop and you only need a piano you can save a fair bit of cash by going for a VPC1

Strewth! It`s only a bloody piano . . . . ! No, this is the latest and greatest from Kawai, and anyway Dewster will be along to put us in our place (and rightly so). It's not for me, I'm not really in the market, but the weight is a killer. Price anyone?

If the MP7 engine is as good as the one in this beauty, Yamaha marketing should start to get very worried.

Im actively shopping for a road piano and keeping ES7 at home. I demoed the CP4 and the action and sound are excellent IMO. It's under 40lbs, lot's of piano options, but I still favor the sound of ES7 over the CP4. The action is equally great on both, just a little different feel. I think MP7 will have more to offer than CP4 i.e. more voices, sympathetic resonance, better dynamics, polyphony, etc.

Well I've been looking and waiting for a action rich digital slab for my home office. Weight no problem, as long as its the top action, the heavier the better. It's not going to be moved, and I like what looks like nice thick wood end caps.
I have test played the ca95 & ca65 and I do like the action, but don't want the console setup. So maybe I might just order this one blind if specs on action are as listed today and roll the dice.
I'm not sure if the key(s) surface material is the best out there and I could think of a dozen classic grand piano's I would like to see in the menu, but it certainly looks alot better for me than those "is it light enough" new boards.

Wow ! Just as good as i hoped for, it seems i have found a new piano to replace the p95 i saddled my mother with when i bought the vpc1 ![[Linked Image]](http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Happy/happy-grin-007.gif) , seems intuitive enough and has a rich sound maybe one for me as well in a year or so? Hmm... Anyway great job kawai!!! You continue to impress, but i got to ask if you guys keep this trend up for the next releases will you include a few of these units as well, http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/14/144443/3447809-5478316467-64514.jpg , http://www.anime-source.com/banzai/images/articles/TTGL/TTGL03.JPG Because seriously if it is as good as it seems... ...Now for a vpc2 under 18 kg and with this action

Anyone know how the Grand Feel action compares to RM3 action in the MP10, other than the triple sensor? I think people say the RM3 has a heavier action, but in your opinion, are there any notable pros and cons to either action?

Stage pianos for music professionals that do not accept compromise.
2.2 longer samples
Hmm. One of these things is not like the other.
looping = compromising

For me the difference was big enough to pass on otherwise gorgeous VPC.

looping = compromising I don't know. I'd still think the bigger "issue" is that this actually means zero improvement to what Kawai already established as standard almost two years ago. Unlike somewhat criticized RD800, MP11 doesn't really bring anything new. Still there's 50% chance it's going to be my next DP, I love that Kawai finally put GF into a portable beast.

The opening chords in that promo video still show a lack of sustain. Especially in the treble. That is disappointing. Why can't they just fix this problem once and for all. I mean, we all know we will pay an arm and a leg for this thing - may as well spend the extra dough and get full sustain.

So...is this basically the same GF keybed and HI-XL AP engine as in the CA65/95 series ? Or has the HI-XL AP been improved in the MP11 (longer samples / other sampleset) ? Just curious.
Ps with GF and HI-XL onboard now, there's not much left to wish for for a top-end stage piano. Except for less weight, but you can't have it both (GF AND low weight).

That's a great slogan they have there on the Facebook page Kawai MPBe the first person to like this.
Kawai CA95 / Steinberg UR22 / Sony MDR-7506 / Pianoteq Stage + Grotrian, Bluethner / Galaxy Vintage D / CFX Lite In the loft: Roland FP3 / Tannoy Reveal Active / K&M 18810
