Thank you! JDW, you were always so nice to me and were actually the one responsible for my getting the piano I have now! God bless you! Karen, I sure hope you don't take any of the carping I see on here personally! Most of us are nice folks, really ! But some things you'll probably want to ignore. You've been super-nice to everyone too, which makes it such a shame that you've encountered rudeness here. Polyphonist has graciously apologized, and as for the rest--I hope you'll forget about it. As you see, many are glad to have you here. It makes me happy to think of you playing your beautiful piano!

This thread apparently proves that the conjecture on another thread regarding pianists and intelligence is false.

I see you had a little 'flame war' here... still, compared to most other internet communities, this is just a small bonfire :)not even a single swear word. (you should check out some gaming forums.)

Svenno: I agree, but remember that the average age of active members in PianoWorld is extremely high, compared to gaming forums and the such! It's simply not the same!

Welcome to Pianist Corner. We are a huge dysfunctional family, as you can plainly see.

I get it now Karen, If you want to top post, then top post. Do not apologize for it. As was mentioned above, one of the moderators of this forum routinely top posts. Remember, this is an internet forum. Do not take anything you read here too seriously unless you are sure of the source. If you stick around, over time you will figure out who to take seriously and who to ignore. I hope you do stick around. Thanks so much Noisy Ape. I have gotten some very nice personal messages from very helpful pianists. I guess I will stick around.

Alright, troll? I am not a troll. Go and check my posts on Piano forum where EVERYONE was so sweet to me in helping me find my Baldwin. I had been looking for an upright at first and they all helped me find a piano. This whole thing I just experienced was not helpful. It really hurt. Karen : May I add my encouragement to those who hope - that you don't take the inappropriate remarks personally, - that you will stay and continue to participate, and - that you will find that most here are genuinely interested in the exchange of ideas and questions about almost everything related to music, and to pianos and to piano music in particular. Top-posting is not an issue for most of us; post as you wish. Do stay! Regards, Thank you so much! There are some wonderful people here!

... and always listen to Bruce. He's 97,69% right! Really though... what Bruce says, and what I've been saying for a long time now, makes every sense in the world and I agree with him. Just because Louis decided to give you a hard time, doesn't mean you should even listen to him (ergo read his posts). Just ignore that ugly guy and he will go away, I can promise you that. Now... On what to play. There's a little Prokofiev (visions fugitive) that is not overly too difficult I think. Also there's the Kabalevsky preludes which are not too difficult either. Scriabin has some preludes which are not insanely difficult. Chopin Mazurkas maybe? Mussorgsky Pictures of an exhibition? Tschaikovsky The Seasons (or was it the 12 months? Sorry I forget). And also, just in case you don't know it, if you plan on getting many scores, it's better to have a look at http://imslp.org/ which should have Scriabin and Chopin and other). Thank you!!! I checked out imslp yesterday and registered. That is a great site! I loved Kabalevsky when I was younger! Thank you for reminding me of those pieces too. I have never played Scriabin--will have a look there too.

I was so happy that i could find a nice piano for less than the uprights i was looking at!

Just ignore the internet tough guys; please do stick around! This particular forum badly needs some good red blood in it... Alright, troll? I am not a troll.
