I have decided it is about time for me to enter the internet world and internet sales via the piano world. I wish to introduce myself. I have had many sales Reps introduce me to this Piano World source of information and likewise have encouraged them to participate. Don Menino and Steve Malcomb of Kawai, Alex Hernandez and Christian Bluthner, of Bluthner Piano Company, Gary Eggers of Seiler, Peter Corney and Brian Kemble of Kemble Piano and many others of great repute. I have asked them all to interact on this site so as to disseminate quality information about the Piano business other pertinent information.

I have had many customers inquire about pianos at the piano world and come back to me with questions and some answers because of the information disseminated via this internet site. Many spins. I think I may be talking to competitve dealers, techicians and prospective customers and I thought that I might lend a different insight into the world of piano buying.

I know the internet is a great way of gathering factual information. Unfortunately, much of the information on the forum is merely opinion with no basis in fact.

I swear to all piano world attendees that I will always be honest with facts and varied with my opinions and I will try to be earnest.

Larry Fine's piano book is a great resource for many and provides many facts, but Larry offers many opinions as well and these opinions should not be held as a panacea in this, the piano world. Believe this or not, many manufacturers do not reveal the entire truth to Larry Fine and thus, I find sometimes, the information has shortcomings.

I have down below access information to my business. I further swear that I will not quote prices other than a fair retail price over the phone. I have had sales personnel interact on this site and I have informed all of them as to this new found policy of truthful information via this site.

If I can be of any service with information you may contact me. Thank you for your attention to this Post.

Welcome to our family. As one of your company's ex-Keyboard drivers, I have many fond memories of morning deliveries in front of your store.

You will find that we are a good-natured bunch.

Again, welcome!

Welcome to the forum, Scott! If PW is successful, it is because of the professionals (dealers and techs) who take the time to educate the rest of us.

I see on your profile that you listed "many" to the question of what piano you own. Were you talking about your inventory? Or are you really in the envious position of having many personal pianos, and if so, do you have a favorite?

Hi Scott,

Welcome to the forum.

I commend you for swearing to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth; I think the piano industry could use a lot more of this kind of attitude. laugh

In regards to your comments about the Larry Fine Book, I have heard a few other piano dealers state that the Fine book was more or less a personal commentary of subjective opinions and recommendations and should be viewed as such. However, I do find your comments interesting.

Best regards,

Rickster

Welcome Scott.

Are you an autorized Bluethner dealer?
Your sigline says yes but Bluethner is not one of the click-through logos on your website, and unlike other brands no inventory is listed.

Maybe it's a new thing for them?

From their site:
Quote
We have just become the New Bluthner (finest piano from Germany) dealer. The only authorized bay area dealer of such fine instruments. We will be introducing some very fine specials on all the Bluthner product.
(Of course, nobody died and made me their spokesperson, either... laugh )

So does that mean Helga Kasimoff is no longer the authorized dealer for California?

And isn't there also another new Bluethner dealer in Orange County California?

Are dealer territories proprietary? Sensitive info?

Welcome Scott,

Always nice to have another professional join our little group. Particularly one who promises to be honest with our members and guests :-)

If you've poked around the forums posts at all, you will see that we sometimes have pretty lively discussions, share a lot of stories, party together, and have fun.

In the end, we all share a common thread... we all love the piano.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

Best,

Frank B.
