frown About a year back i found a site which described a new brand of digital named Orange and made in Canada I think in Vancouver.
My friend who lives in Robert's Creek (vancouver) gave the shop a ring and said they were most helpfull.
Any member living in Van been to play one of their three models?
I read that the two guys making the unit had the idea of not putting in excess functions - this appeals to me.

Orange have been making amplifiers for years. So, whatever the piano is like, it should have a good sound system!

Peter, you are thinking of Orange Amplification, based in Great Britain, which is a renowned manufacturer of guitar amplifiers.

This is a different company, with no affiliation to Orange Amplification.

I know the store carrying these. The next time I'm there I will have to give them a try.

What I can gather from the specs it is sampled sounds with CD quality (what instrument were these recorded from)? It also says it is a "key weight: C type action" - does anyone know what that means?

It doesn't look like they would be anything special?

Unless I missed something, there were no sound clips. That's a red flag for Orange.

Are the pianos made in Vancouver or re-badged Chinese/Asian made pianos? I suspect the latter.

I'd say definitely. Who makes a digital piano without any mention of resonance simulation or half pedalling, yet claims they are state-of-the-art? It's all marketing speak for very low spec instruments. There are really no specific details about these things. It's all fancy marketing speak. I have no doubt they come from the Hemmingway, Adagio, Williams etc. stable. No-name generic stuff. No sound clips or videos either. Who leaves that out on a piano site?
