Just curious about how they sound and feel in person.

Your local piano store.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the "in NYC" part.

There's that strip on West 58th Street, with Faust Harrison and Beethoven Pianos and the other places all next to each other. There's also a piano rental place not too far away (check Google maps). Have you checked with them? I remember there being some high-end brands, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have Bosies.

Beethoven - Op.49 No.1 (sonata 19)
Czerny - Op.299 Nos. 5,7 (School of Velocity)
Liszt - S.172 No.2 (Consolation No.2)

Dream piece:
Rachmaninoff - Sonata 2, movement 2 in E minor

Allegro Pianos on West 58th street carries Bosendorfer. But I would call ahead to make sure there is at last one in the store. Before Bosendorfer New York closed you could play maybe eight Bosies in the same store.

New York City!
Faust Harrison generally does not display Bosendorfers at their 58th Street showroom, although they usually have in stock Bechstein, Schimmel, and as usual, Steinway, Mason Hamlin, and the usual Yamahas.

But directly next door is Allegro Pianos (as mentioned in the above post) which always has at least one Bosendorfer in the showroom (I just happened to be there an hour ago) with the additional bonus that they also carry Bluthner, Steingaeber, Forster, Estonia, etc., and they almost always have at least one handsome example of each, if not two or three. That is a handy situation because you are free to go back and forth on these pianos to hear the tonal contrasts. In the back room are plenty of 7+ foot grands and one or two 9+ grands, probably Bosendorfer or Bluthner.

The only 'issue' I have with showrooms across the country in general is that they usually have hard floors and floor-to-ceiling window fronts, etc., and that is probably not going to be the acoustic environment where they find a permeant home. Also, when pianos are 'parked' side by side with no room to breathe acoustically their virtues may be somewhat buried.

I was just in manhattan yesterday but could not make any kind of piano pilgrimage. I don't always think about trying out pianos because am not-infrequently in manhattan anyway, but given that the reason I was there was to accompany my friend's daughter to ballet auditions at Lincoln Center, I was in full artsy mode and spent my time oogling the pianos in all the studio rooms we passed. And then, ultimately, just feeling jealous of the accompanist at the auditions because he got to noodle around at a piano and I was just sitting there.
