I'm picking up this piece again, this time without a teacher. I don't remember the sheet being so complicated. If you can help me with these question, please help smile

1. What is "espress" mean in a sheet music, how do I suppose to play when I come upon that Italian (I think) in a piano sheet music.

2.I remember there was many part that when you play, you have to slow down, but I really don't see any thing on my sheet that tells me to slow down or speed up shocked. I can still use my feeling to make an interpretation but I just want to be sure.

3. What does "Poco pił mosso." means, it appear at the beginning of the G major section. I think it implies the tempo, but I'm afraid I'm not understand "that" tempo.

4.When the G major section starts, these words appear: "ma poco a poco cresc", does that mean you will have to turn up the volume "little by little", eg like from pianissimo to forte slowly and smoothly?

5. Oh no, not again! What does "stringendo." mean?

I'll be very appreciated smile Please help me if you have the time. Thanks in advance!

Best wishes!

1) expressive, play with expression.
2) yes, you may use rubato.
3) a little more movement, play a little faster
4) yes, but not from pp, from the last dynamic you were playing.
5) literally "tightening". Start to accelerate a little, and maybe a bit of an increase in volume.

You should invest in a good music dictionary. They do come in handy!

The Dolmetsch online dictionary has become a bit bloated, but it can answer a lot of your musical term questions.

Thanks! I finally figure it out, I think so wink.

I've finished learning the piece and now I'm moving on to the polishing job smile. Can't wait to play this piece nicely, I love it so much!
