My first post here, writing on behalf of a friend. He is shopping for a piano for his daughter to use (primarily), as she is just starting piano lessons at school. He, too, wants to learn, though he is interested in extras, such as synth-like sounds (keep in mind that this is a secondary requirement).
It took him a long time to be convinced to go the digital piano route, so good key action and realistic sound is an important consideration.
I would like to hear opinions about the following models that he is currently looking at:
Yamaha P105
Roland F20
Kurzweil MP15

I would add to the list:
Casio PX-150 (mostly piano) /
Casio PX-350 (lots of voices, "arranger" functions)
There are quite a few DP's in that price range, and I don't think there's a clear "best choice".

Thanks in advance You might like to consider a console digital piano. One that sort of resembles an upright acoustic. This one factor would have a positive effect on learning particularly for a youngster. Like, you`re learning the PIANO not just a keyboard. Psychological.
