Just going in circles here, I have a problem with orientation and finding my way in maps and it continues with music sheets and repetitions.

I'm learning a new short piece I don't know and there are several parts, no repetition dots anywhere:

- Part A 1-6 (start to TO CODA with oval and cross)

- Part B 7-24 (from that TO CODA to DC AL CODA)

- Part C 25-31 (separated, oval and cross with CODA)


Not sure it should be played A B A C ? or A C B A C?

Help, please!

It seems to me ...from what I understand of your description, that you should play from A, through B, at the end of B where it says "d.c. al coda" you go back to A and play to the coda sign, then jump to the start of C.

Play A 1-6- B7-24 - Back to A1-6, jump to C25 and finish.

Thanks Casinitaly, I thought it was that, but I always doubt if I should jump the firt time I reach the coda symbol or only when I come back the second time.

A B A C it is then.

NOw I only have to learn it!!! grin

smile Glad to help. This is stuff I learned as a teen when I played bass clarinet in the high school concert band - and fortunately I still remember how it works!

As for my name, maybe if I explain it will be easier.
It's my initials c a s and my location "in Italy" smile

I think some folks say (in their minds) Casin-taly --- because I've had folks call me Casin for short, but I think of it a C. A. S. in Italy.

More than you needed to know probably smile

Thanks CAS, I'm only back trying to read music sheets and I'm getting lost constantly. Never been to Italy, but it's one the places I really want to go... and of course, get lost there! cool

I got the Italy part when I read it but I was writing something like casinality, cisanilaty and similar... dyslexic

I went to Italy in 2001, landed in Venice, took the train to Rome and stayed there for eight days, sightseeing as much as I could. Still felt I hadn't seen everything I wanted to see. After that I went to Florence (Firenze), and back to Venice, to have a short walk. Had to be careful not to lose my way, because I was due to fly back to London later that day.

As to the subject of the original post, I'm also working on my sightreading and discovering I'm not very good at it. I tend to try to go by memory and when it fails, I just stop, trying to find where I was in the sheet.
