Can we show patience and kindness towards one another?
This forum is becoming number one on the moderator hit list. And there IS discussion amongst the moderators about what to do.
Personally, I would RATHER that nothing be done. I would rather that people would be kind and considerate towards one another.
I will commend you all that one of the old bones of contentions on here has fallen by the wayside. Thank you!
But now there seems to be a lot of disdain toward people trying to be do it yourselfers. Please, if you don't like people doing it themselves, then just stay away from those topics. You don't have to interject your bad feelings. They just cause hard feelings and that's not what we are about.
I repair and rebuild Hammond organs. I have a local guy who is a do-it-yourselfer. Nice guy. But his skills are limited. I will even help him with my best advice. Does this take business away from me? Yes and no. Yes, initially it does. But more often than not, he gets in over his head and then pays me to undo what he did and then do the job the way it should be done. It works out. If I was a jerk to him then I would get no business from him at all. And we have become friends. So be kind to those interested in piano technology. I would daresay that EACH OF YOU was once a newbie.
And amongst the professionals, don't play the "mine is bigger than yours" game. Have you ever considered that your clients can easily see how you behave if they come here?
But regardless, let's not decide it is our mission in life to tell others what they want to do is stupid. Or call them stupid. Or treat them as second class citizens. The moderators are getting tired of people coming off as aggressors and we can and will do something about it.
Another thing.. Piano World is about PIANOS. It's NOT about anything political. It is not about sexual preferences. It is not about judging others. It's not about anyone's religion. This has and will continue to be enforced. Again, be patient, kind, and considerate.
Oh, we expect good behavior from EVERYONE, whether you are a piano tech OR a DIY'er. If we have to, we will put people on vacations. Temporary or permanent. It's all up to you.

Thank you!!!
