When requesting pieces, please incorporate waltzes and nocturnes into one single request prioritization. Do not have separate prioritizations for each category. Thank you.

Joel, you can edit your last list instead of posting new ones. It makes the thread much easier to read.

You can only edit a post for so long, but you're right. It won't fix the problem but it will help. wink

You can definitely still edit that one.

I PM'd for Waltz in C-sharp minor, Op. 64 No. 2.

I'm just back to playing the piano after a very long hiatus! I'm re-learning some of the pieces I played before and was trying to decide what to add to my repertoire. This recital answered my question! I hope 3 months will be enough for me to do this new piece some justice!

Re-learning (polishing):
Chopin - Prelude in D-flat major Op. 28 No 15

Working on:
Chopin - Waltz in C-sharp minor Op. 64 No. 2
Deubussy - Suite bergamasque - Clair de lune

I've never really played much Chopin so I'm using this as an excuse to learn something new. I think I always avoided playing Chopin because of an early bad experience. Let's just say it was a significantly humbling experience with a Mazurka. Anyways, I'm going to give the Op. 34 no. 2 in A minor a shot because it's always been a favorite. (PM sent)

That would go to the 62/1 - but 27/2 is pretty high up there.

I sent a request for Op 37 No 2 a few hours ago, sorry. (After a comedy of errors where I set my alarm for 3.30am local time, then reset my alarm for 4am and collapsed asleep with exhaustion, and was so tired that I got my opus numbers mixed up and requested Op 32 No 2 in error, and finally realised this morning.)

Polite request to organizers: 4pm Eastern Time is a good time for launching things like this in the future. At that time it is early morning in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific; afternoon in The Americas; and evening in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. That's pretty inclusive.

Ah yes, the "musical saw".. beautiful but also a very strange trio. My favorite is Op. 55/2 because it's so free-spirited and optimistic.

For me personally, the most beautiful Nocturne is the one I happen to be playing at the time........ grin

That's my standard reply to the question : "Who is your favourite (favorite) composer?"

I know I haven't been here for a while (mostly thanks to school), but this looks fun! It also provides an incentive to learn some Chopin since I have barely any in my repertoire. My absolute favorite nocturne is 55/2 without a doubt, but as that isn't available I just sent a PM requesting op. 9 no. 3 (as my first choice).

Student and shamefully occasional pianist
Currently attempting:
Rachmaninoff - Preludes op. 23 nos. 4 and 7
Deciding between Mozart K. 310 and Beethoven op. 10 no. 3
Albeniz - Almeria from Iberia book II
