Very cool, WiseBuff -- what kind of dog is Mystique? Could you share a photo? Congratulations!

(Can you tell I've been on the road for two weeks and miss my dogs?)

Sorry folks - but I simply FORGOT to practise the day before yesterday (been rummaging around in the loft, trying to insulate since its getting chillier) - and I'd been so good up til then. Bugger!

I can't afford too many lapses like that - as I've gone a bit mad putting myself down for a Tchaikovsky piece, for which I seem to need to 'grow another hand' as Peter (I think it was 'im) put it, to add to my Chopin mazurka, and a joplin rag, which I'm sure to regret.

Cheryl, please put me on the excused list for November 1st to 4th. I'll be out of town, leaving very early and arriving very late.

61 Days to go until 2014!! Time to start thinking about how my practice will fit in with the holiday hustle and bustle. I still haven't missed a day since my sign up here. Stay focused everyone.

I'm off again. Nov 8th through 11th.
Cornucopia in Whistler. Big wine festival - business of course!
3 days home when I shall be glued to the keyboard because then I'm off again.
Do I have to check in again or is this notice enough?
Nov 15th to 21st. Even bigger wine festival in Mexico courtesy of International Food and Wine Society - business of course! smile
Chances of getting that Chopin done by Xmas fading fast, maybe next year!

The purpose of life is not to struggle against the inevitability of death, rather it is to embrace life before your time has come.

Actually I wanted to say I've skipped yesterday.

One of the most profound declarations of skipping I've read.
Duly noted. smile

Please add Nov 25-29 as "missed" days for me. Had to cover a no-notice request help close down a satellite office and decided to tack-on a Thanksgiving visit to my son. No piano, no time, no regrets!

Thanks!

waaaah I messed up my perfect streak! I'm so annoyed with myself!

I have been so very good with my MOYD duties, I sit down and do something no matter how tired I am. Recently, I started a new job, along with keeping a shift at my old. I went from working 4 days a week to six a week - agck. And new schedule too - I went from working 6pm to 2am to 8am-5pm. Talk about culture shock! I also am taking a rather time consuming course, and I have managed to play something daily. My eyes may be half closed - but hey!

Until Thanksgiving (Nov 28).

I'm so mad! I was home, I had plenty of time, but I just didn't. The only thing I did was play a I and a V chord for BillyO. We were watching one of those Great Courses on music theory, and I did a demonstration. But I did not sit down down and play anything.

I am back on the wagon, however.

Well. I missed yesterday... My 21 year old daughter asked me to go car shopping with her after work... I got home late and just didn't have it in me. The worst part is my lesson is tomorrow... I'll have to tell my instructor that I missed a day. I practiced extra tonight to make amends.

Well Mr. Square, that's a pretty nice reason to have missed. Up on the wagon with you now!

Is this happening this year (2014). I'd really love to join it but I may be too late.

Yes, you're too late for this year, but there will be MOYD 2014, and we'll watch for you there!

A week out from Australia's longest (240Km) footrace I responded to a plea from an ultrarunner who had two people pull out from his crew. It was a big decision knowing I could not play piano at all during the event, but having crew experience I could not sit by and do nothing.

So 4th - 7th Dec I was awol but back into my normal regime having lost nothing but gained a wonderful experience.

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.
