This is my video after a additional 1 week’s practice. ( not quite) I did a small video editing at the first 5 secs. of the video, no music editing. I am too fatigued from “cram “practicing. I decreased the tempo to 86 instead of 92 bpm waltz time, to ease it for playing Again there is a slight pause at measure 65, and I slowed down intentionally at the end. for drama. Now that I’ve taken myself …..too …..to…. two …tuuuu…..seriously, , , I have to say I’m whooped, because I am waltzing in my home from waltz time piano practice. I am moving on ………... I like any comments, - negative or positive. ORIGINAL [video:vimeo] "The Godfather Waltz" composed by Nino Rota on a Casio PX Piano from Pianonewbie1 on Vimeo. Well, there is a definite difference between week 1 and week 2, which means that what you are doing is working. In week 2 it flows, especially in the later parts, as compared to week 1. Do you have plans for tackling the few sticky spots of hesitation that remain near then end, and how you will do it?

I love it when I figure out what works, like another week of practice and slowing down - what incentive for going on! Good for you! Some very nice delicate parts in this.

I’ll make it my”touchstone” while I move on to some else. There have been other pieces I have gone back to, after so long, and played pretty well. Even though this one may seem "easily" played to someone else, it was a challenge for me/ a beginner-(5 years) to play well in marked tempo. Also , I play this better when I am not recording myself.

Obvious progression, well done. Still not perfect, but it will when you go back and play it later on. And like you say, it's quite normal to play worse when recording oneself or with public, we all need to get used to that.

Also posted in Piano Bar This song is titled –“Winter Light and was the first song I wanted to learn on Piano. This is the theme song from the movie the “The Secret Garden “at MusicNotes .com I am now learning the original score, which is beautiful -,composed by Zbigniew Priesner “Winter light.” Someone very nice who I’ve know for a long time told me his name is pronounced Ziegtiev,(ZIEGTIV) with a “T” not “B”. And no WAH for the “W” I do regret the poor video quality but my camcorder works best in daylight, and I have to convert the “vid” to upload for dial up. Please comment,- positive or negative It is played on a Casio PX 100 thru a Marantz amplifier then directly to Dell computer. No music effects or editing (nor video) . Well done. From a recording point of view, this video was better than the first Godfather video, I mean the sound. In the first one I felt the computer was picking up the clicking sound of the key presses (Casios have that problem in general) but I didn't notice any key noise in this video.
Casio PX100 seems to be quite powerful what dynamics are concerned, the notes resonated quite long and deeply.
But again, regarding the playing itself, which is most important, nicely done.
Me on YouTubeCasio PX-5S. Garritan CFX, Production Grand 2 Gold, Concert Grand LE, AcousticSamples C7, some Sampletekks. Pianoteq 8 Std (Blüthner, SteinGraeber, NY/HB Steinway D).
