This recording is rough. The last few variations could use some cleaning up, but any constructive comments are always welcome.

For a rough recording this is very very nice !! Yes - a couple of the variations could use a little cleaning up, but overall I really enjoyed your interpretation. You have a solid technique, and good sense of the drama and variety in the piece. Thanks for sharing.

This is something I learned from an interview with Utchida regarding Andras Schiff. She stated, quite factually, that the reason he has recorded this huge amount of repertoire is that he is sight reading it, up to tempo, in the studio.

That is exactly what is going on here with this post, with the Debussy and the Mendelssohn.

... from an interview with Utchida

Who? I have no idea who that is.

So you're asserting that the OP is "sight reading" both the Mendelssohn and the Debussy - up to tempo?? If so, the guy is a doggone genius - especially in the case of the Debussy. grin

While I only had time to get a few takes of the Mendelssohn and Debussy, I am in no way sightreading it. I have actually learned these pieces since June. My sightreading ability is nowhere near Schiff's ability and it actually is one of my weaker abilities in piano playing. blush
