Ok, UKIkarus. You're in the "maybe" list. Thanks!
If you don't want to travel alone, I can put a note in front of your name.

It would be nice to have someone to go with if I do end up going since I have never travelled before, although if it comes to it I should be fine going alone (nervous yes! but ok) smile

Having looked at the workplace calender it seems that every year a colleague of mine books off a holiday abroad in Mid/Late June and since there are only 3 of us in the office, it is in our best interests to keep at least 2 of us around in case of a crisis.

With that in mind I do hope that in the end it becomes settled around July as that would ideally suit myself and possibly others (although admittedly I am but one potential traveller smile and it will be dependant upon the circumstances of the vast majority)

Thanks for your information. As you can imagine there are several factors involved to choose the weekend, mainly, of course, the date that's better for everyone. That's why I'm waiting till late October to announce the definitive date.

BTW, I'm having some contacts here in Lisbon with some hotels and other possible locations for our EPP, and I'm always "looking" for the weekend of 05/06 July... So, probably, this will be the chosen date.

Just to announce that the EPP2014 will be on 05 July 2014. The date is closed.

The plan is to do the party on July 5, Saturday, starting afternoon.
Now, plan your trip!

I tried to choose the better date for everyone. I'm sorry, if it isn't suitable for someone.

There isn't any new entry in the participation list but with the date decision, maybe new members want to join us... Time to temporarily stick this thread to ABF forum?

Hello my friends,
What if... what if we could use this red piano at our EPP2014? Chances are high!

Ah, date is set!

Great now I can really long for it! smile

The red piano will do great on pics if we have a white dresscode.

The date is set, it's time to remember some useful information:

information about ID cards and passports when traveling inside Europe:
:: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/entry-exit/eu-citizen/index_en.htm

European Health Insurance Card:
:: http://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=559

Some official homepages:
:: http://www.golisbon.com/
:: http://www.visitlisboa.com/

...Where you'll find information like this:
10 Reasons Why You Should Go to Lisbon:
CULTURE: It's one of the world's great historical cities, with characteristic and surprising sights, cultural treasures, and a beautiful setting that make it a paradise for walkers and photographers.
VALUE: It's one of Europe's best values -- officially Western Europe's least expensive capital.
LOCATION: It's the closest European capital to the United States and just around a 2-hour flight from all the other major European cities.
CLIMATE: Its mild climate makes it an ideal year-round destination. Even in winter, when most other European cities are freezing, in Lisbon high temperatures rarely go below 10C (50F).
RESORT: It is the only European capital located so close to sandy beaches, enabling visitors to combine culture with fun by the sea.
SIZE: It's a compact and intimate city, ideal for a short city break or a longer romantic stay, with a lively café culture and a nightlife that is one of the most vibrant in Europe.
VARIETY: Its surroundings offer an incredible variety of tourist attractions, from fairytale palaces in one of Europe's most romantic towns (Sintra), to world-class golf and fun in Europe's largest casino in Estoril, to surfing in Cascais or escaping to a natural park in Arrábida, to dolphin-watching in Setúbal.
GATEWAY: It makes a perfect base to explore many of Portugal's most outstanding towns and villages, from Evora to Obidos.
SAFETY: It's one of the safest European capitals. Tourists are always automatic targets in all big cities and visitors should beware of pickpocketing in Lisbon, but serious random violent crime is practically unheard of in this city.
WELCOMING: It's a friendly city with a cosmopolitan population, welcoming to all visitors and families with children, and open to minorities and alternative lifestyles.

Carlos, the red piano would be stunning! (maybe distracting though?)

Glad to see UKIkarus is confirmed.

Mr. Casinitaly and I were up in Nuremberg for a long weekend - we had the pleasure of spending time with PatH while we were there and talking about the upcoming trip!

Next week we'll meet up with Sinophilia in Milan for an Argerich concert!

Thanks for all the links Carolos!

Well, I have been trying to get a hotel/hall/auditorium for our EPP. There are few places with a piano in Lisbon (do you believe it?) and those that exist, are not cheap...

Then, I had an idea, but I need to know what you all think of it.
As I wrote in AOTW thread I was contacted by a national TV channel because they want my contribute to a new project they are planning. (Full story here )

My idea is to ask to the TV producers if they want to send a reporter to our EPP to do a kind of coverage to being seen on TV. Why? Because, that way, I can negotiate for FREE the hotel/hall/auditorium we need for our EPP. It's free publicity for the owner of the space... it's a good deal.

Now, the questions:
1) Do you mind about the presence of a TV crew to do the cover of our EPP?
2) What about appearing on TV?

note: Nothing is decided yet. It's all just in my head.
