I love that program and will look out for it.

We are all aware of the fine quality of work that comes out the Cunningham rebuilding shop, but, ya gotta admit that the historic building makes it Extra Awsome!

It'll look great on TV.

If they can make a gun using 3D printing technology, when can they print a Steinway D?

Sorry, S&S doesn't use a WN&G action.

Rich, I will be monitoring PW for a heads up of when this will air.

I think they picked the right shop to film!

Kudos, brother!

I watch the Discovery Channel during my workouts at the gym.

I'm looking forward to seeing this over here!

Since I was born and raised in Philadelphia I hope the crew includes some shots of the area outside the workshop as well.

Yes! You feel my pain. Unfortunately, we can only try to communicate as best we can. The good news is that we will have input into the narration, but the ultimate decisions are still theirs. That is the scary part for me.

Thank you OT. I only wish I could somehow convince you to relocate to Philadelphia. Your hands and ears would be well used here.

It occurs to me that they might show different episodes there, Dave. Have you seen many episodes based in the USA?

Rich, I think I see the same episodes as you though at different times. The Dutch typically do not do voice overs, they show programs in their original language and add Dutch subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

Discovery Communications: thirteen cable channels, feeding a giant media maw which is ever-starved for content. I'll bet they have a whole department that does nothing but vet suggestions from viewers. In fact, I should not wonder if they have a department which prepares educational films for private, non-broadcast training seminars.

Immense market for writers and creatives, and many technicians... not to mention front of the camera workers, or their famous, spoken narrative tracks.

Let us know the date, Rich, so we can program our boxes. The TV listings are the stepchild of the industry: so poor, when they could be so rich.

I just got word today that the film taken on location here has arrived in the province of Quebec safely. Now they need to take many hours of film and distill it down to minutes while keeping the story points clear.

What a job!

I will keep PW posted as I learn more. Has anyone ever been involved in the editing phase of a project like this? Any ideas as to how much time is needed to do this kind of work?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I've been an assistant editor on several documentaries, and the short answer in editing is that you're done when you stop, or How much time do you have? But cutting an hour show should take a month or six weeks. It depends on how scripted the idea is or whether they just shoot and shoot, and then look for a theme. It also depends on whether the director does the cutting. That can ADD time if the director falls in love with his footage and can't be ruthless in sending his film to the cutting room floor. Your crew probably has a real good idea where they're going with this, so I would guess a month.

Congrats Rich!!!!

Now you will join the Rich & Famous of America.

I'm a little scared that you will be sooo famous that Cunningham Pianos will turn into a "boutique restoration facility" and then I will never be able to send my piano to your shop.

Things happen when a job is well done.

Congrats again.
