I visited the Exhibition at Besbrode Pianos in 2012 and enjoyed the privilege of playing some of the pianos including the restored Marie Antoinette Erard.
In contrast the following is worth visiting:
www.cavendishpianos.com
This new British piano maker has an impressive range of hand-built pianos.

Kemble belongs to Yamaha now and their pianos are made in Japan.

Well I remember hearing that that was Kemble's fate prior to them closing but then I read that Yamaha pulled out around 2009. Did Yamaha do a U turn later?
By the way, so glad to hear about Cavendish!

My understanding is that Yamaha had a partnership with Kemble.
Pianos were made at Milton Keynes where I took the opportunity to attend a piano teachers' seminar about 12 years ago and which included a guided tour around the factory.
Both Yamaha and Kemble upright pianos were manufactured on the same production line. Following their part financial interest in Kemble, Yamaha subsequently acquired full control and ultimately closed the Milton Keynes factory moving production to Japan.

So is the Kemble name still extant? Because their website is still functional.

Kemble Pianos website shows a full range of pianos all of which are built in Japan as they have been since 2009.
Kemble are part of Yamaha Music Europe GmbH(UK).

I do love pianos even though I've never had one. Hopefully one day...
