I just got my VPC1 and I love it. However, I can't find a MIDI implementation chart for the VPC1. I need to switch presets on the VPC1 whenever I switch between Ivory and another synthesizer because the velocity curve for Ivory doesn't work well with my other synthesizers. I'd like to switch the VPC1 preset using a MIDI program change command, for example, with the Set List Maker iOS application. Any help is appreciated.

The midi implementation chart can be downloaded here:
http://www.kawai.co.jp/worldwide/vpc/en/downloads/

The five preset response curves can be selected by pressing the power switch at the same time as one of the top five black keys on the keyboard (as shown in the owner's manual).

According to the chart, the VPC1 can receive "system exclusive". That may be for the interface with the curve editing software, which can change which curve is in use. I don't know that that software can receive commands from any other application.

Jack's reply is spot-on. wink

Regarding changing presets using SysEx commands, I'm not sure, but it may only be possible via USB.

Kind regards,
James

Yes, James is right. The midi implementation document says:

"Transmit and receive only with a USB terminal."

and doesn't mention any "curve selection" midi command.
