How does Cubase Grand 3 compare with Synthogy, Alicia?

I have wondered about this myself. There is a certain advantage to keeping within the Steinberg/Cubase/Yamaha line of sampled instruments, if the sample set is worthwhile. I think they did a very nice job with the orchestral instruments. No doubt, Vienna is probably better, but very pricey (and huge in size).

I think that Addictive Keys offers a lot for $29 and is worth a listen. off topic, I am using it with BFD Eco drums also $29 and am getting good results.

Native also has a bunch of pianos for $49 and in a package- I have these on my Black friday list as I could see them being reduced.

That's awesome, I was wondering about the discount. I wouldn't mind buying one.

Coming back to the question. I hear a lot of Ivory Synthogy, but never about Cubase Grand. Any clue?

I've got the grand 3 and I think it has very good sound quality ,it is a much brighter piano sound than the synthogy and I think there is a better connection with playability.
It's a bit dated now though,it does not support half pedal samples its just a on and off switch on the damper

I have the Grand 3 and there is no reason for you to consider it. It is outdated, underdeveloped, and overpriced compared to the modern samples you hear of today. And Steinberg shows no intention of ever upgrading it.
