On one of my endless crazy glue sticky key repair in p80 board I noticed that if I take out the litlle rubber bumper at the bottom of the key ,the key is not so prone as much to sticking when it breaks in the future .
Actually I found very interesting the key's action if thus changed.
It sorts of vibrate before and after being hit by the finger and this vibration resembles to me some real or grand pianos touch.
So I took all 88 rubbers out and I found a new joy of playing the p80,the only problem is the noise ,it clicks very loudly but that is not problem on a loud band gig.
I find this changed action very nice for rock and roll ,blues and other hard playing which before I would suffer greatly with this board (broken nails, sore litlle finger etc.)Especially jerry lee slides are executed really smoothly.

Just found a new use for this old board and fun to play it again ,My teory is ,somehow the missing rubber bumper leaves sort of 1 or 2 mm space for the key to jump after being hit and that is nice kind of response for certain type of playing
,also once you hit the key it sorts of carries the weight of the hammer mechanism ahead and then propulses it and thers a tini moment before it comes back to the key and returns with a litlle hit to your finger.

Well I though I share this ,if and so it may be of some use to p80 owners and also wonder if anyone done the same before.

Interesting!

You don't happen to have pics?

In our studio theres an old P80 with many broken keys that I could have for little money, maybe I can then just do the same you did to the action, but first I'd have to fix the broken keys... eek

Northern England.
So that`s why GHS keys are generally noisy . . . . why not try to get new rubber pads?

No pics but once you open it you can get keys out when unscrewed screws that hold the keybed and moving the keybed a few milimetres down. Then at the top of each key is a litlle arrow and key letter and with a kitchen knich you press where the arrow point between the keys and thus release the key to get it out.
Once the key out you´ll see the can the rubber pad and can take it off .On sticking keys there will at the top bottom of the key a corner broken or about to break which you can fix with crazy glue, but also as I mentioned once the rubbers are out the keys won't stick as much even when the corner broken .
