LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!!

Funny, I just sent you a private note, then checked in here and see that YES! you are both coming. YEAH!

Les, I drink red. Oh wait, your note was for Frank.

Getting ready to make the big bowl of homemade garden salsa.

It's party time!

Frank, just dug out some organ music, but I have not played one in 25 years. Doubt if my feet will remember what to do. eek

See you all tomorrow!

I haven't played one since the 70's. I can some basics (old blues/rock) but nothing fancy. Still, I love the sound of the old A-100 :-)

Kathy busy making her potato salad and other goodies, I'm doing little projects.
Can't wait for the party to begin.

See you tomorrow.

Kathy, Kirby (the wonder dog) and I would like to thank everyone who came to help
us celebrate our new home and our first official piano party!

Many thanks to Larry Buck too for making three trips up here from Lowell MA to voice and tune my piano, it sounded incredible and everyone enjoyed playing it.

It was so nice to have some of our old friends come to our party, lilylady and Bernard have been forums members for a long time, and we've all attended a fair number of piano parties together. Sue and Howard are new friends (meaning only a few years) but we feel like we've known them much longer.

Les K. and his girlfriend Dreama have the record for longest distance traveled to our party, they drove all the way from Michigan. They are both fun friendly people you can't help liking immediately.

We had a number of new people come to our party, including some local people we'd only met recently.
It made us feel good to know our neighbors welcome us to the area and wanted to be part of our celebration.

And I was thrilled that some of my relatives came, including a group who drove up from the Cape (as in Cape Cod).

According to our guest book we had about 35 people, good thing our driveway is long.

We're hoping others will post pictures and maybe some sound recordings. In the meantime I'll post the few I took. I didn't have much time to snap pictures, too busy mingling.

All in all it was a fun day/night!
We can't wait to hold another party, well maybe we could wait a little while, say until the summer (although Kathy mentioned something about a Christmas party?).

My cousins from the Cape

One of our Neighbors (Don Kent), my Sister, George Kelly

Howard (who recorded the playing), lilylady

Sue Keller, Ragtime Pianist Extrodinaire (she and husband Howard came up from the Cape)

My Niece Sara April, My Sister Barbara, My Cousins Daughter Wendy

George Kelly (who sang for us while his wife Terri played) and other guests.

The Maple Tree in our Front Yard. We had promised people good foliage peeping. We were hoping the sun would be out during the party so people could see it, but it stayed overcast. These pictures were taken this morning (Monday).

Looking forward to other people posting pictures too.
I may have some video as well, haven't had a chance yet to see how it came out.

Thanks again to everyone who came to our party!

Frank,

Golly, it was such a wonderful party and it made me realize how I've missed them. It was like old times! I truly enjoyed myself through and through.

You've got such a great setup there for piano parties. Beautiful home you and Kathy have made and a gorgeous piano to play on. Swoon!

It was just swell to meet new people--and such interesting people.

Whoever made the tuna salad: fantastic!! I loved the dried fruit in it.

It was a perfect day for me: The trip over was visually stunning what with the leaves, and it's not all that far. Great people, great food, great piano, great location, great venue! And Kirby was a total delight!!

smile

WHAT A FANTASTIC PIANO PARTY IN PARSONSFIELD!

Frank and Kathy outdid themselves both with the 'redo' and this event. So much fun to see their efforts in remodeling in person, and then to meet up with old friends and new.

Piano Party, All for the sake of our love of it. And sharing was done by so many from adult beginners to the pro's!

I took some photos and some videos but having trouble getting the videos on the PC. They are coming out like a negative.

So I'll do a video later and just post some pics here now.

My food contribution fresh from the garden

Traveling on the way, in Wakefield, this beautiful old home. The area is full of them.

[Linked Image]

Of course a garden always stops me in my tracks!

Sometimes when you get lost, you find the most interesting things!

[Linked Image]

Stayed in this gorgeous, fun, 200 yr old farmhouse

[Linked Image]

[Linked Image]

Lotsa color at Frank and Kathy's. Just in time!

Let the party begin!

Did you notice the door knocker?

This is what greeted us in the hallway! I am SOOOO jealous!

[Linked Image]

How unique is this for wall art? I remember when Frank made this for his hallway in Fl. Impressive in person.

[Linked Image]

As if Kathy hadn't been busy enough...she sent us all home with homemade jam!

It was great to hear Les play again smile Love those stylings.

And I am *so glad* those old sheet music covers made it from Florida - I was afraid they were a permanent part of the house there and were now lost to time. I love that collage.

Yes, we enjoyed Les' playing too.
I wish we'd had more time to visit.

As for the sheet music wall, we literally had to take down two walls in the place in Florida to take them with us.
We replaced the walls in FL, then when we got to Maine we had to reinforce the walls with the music, frame them, and hang them on a good solid wall in our new home.
