For years, I've wondered who the pianists are on

Candlelight Trio - Happy Piano Hour

and

Atlantic Five Jazz Band

But I've never been able to find out. Anybody know? "Trio" and "Band" seem to be misnomers, as both these albums are strictly KB (some tracks possibly have some drum and bass sequencing).

Despite the cheese factor in the album titles, these are actually very competent pianists.

I don't suppose anybody knows the answer to this, other than the small band of folks who would have been involved in recording the albums.

I don't know if samples are available online. But you won't be able to tell who they are just by listening to them, anyway.

The Atlantic Five's website informs us they are headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. Their anonymity seems intentional; no amount of googling will reveal their personnel. IMO they most likely are Europeans (or could be American expatriates, though I find that unlikely). The pianist sounds to me just a little stiff and studied, the way a lot of Asians and Europeans play jazz, IMO.

Yes, the Atlantic Five pianist is very technical. I didn't realize they (him?) is based in Germany. I assumed the name was a reference to Atlanta, Georgia. In any case, I'm still interesting in knowing who it is.

By chance today listening to the radio, I heard this guy: Mike Wofford

To my ears, this sounds like the same pianist on "Atlantic Five " mentioned at the top of this thread, at least in the one track they played on the radio. Can anyone confirm this?

Following up on my latest post: the Wofford track in question is "little Melonae" off his "It's Personal CD."

But after listening to samples of his other tracks, I've realized it's not the same pianist.
