Isn't a ChopinLiszt what you write to help you remember your intended purchases at a grocery store? And when you're finished Choping, you put the groceries in a Bach and take them out to your car. The Bachs are heavy, though, because they are Alkan'd goods, except for the Shoenberg'r, which you planned to grill that night, since the Weber was so nice. Very good, except that Schoenberg has a "c" in it.
Regards,
Polyphonist

...many people, over the Internet, are not native speakers... Very good point, Nikolas. For the record, the grammar pet peeves I expressed are things I've read and heard from lifelong, native speakers of American English. (Perhaps that's the problem?)

I don't have time to read the whole thread right now because I am late, so maybe this has already been mentioned, but I have seen a confusion of your and you're, or their, they're and there even in posts by educated people (and native speakers on top of that)...

This mistake isn't really a peeve of mine, just something I notice when it happens. And, since it just happened in another thread, but this thread is still chugging along, this seemed the place to note it. It is when people write "here, here" instead of "hear, hear". I don't know why, but it always strikes me as a little bit comic when I see it.

Aw, I got in on the party late! But I still need to share: a friend just showed me a list of fines for accompanying crimes. Among things like 100$ for 24 Italian songs, and 500$ for Erlkonig was my personal pet peeve: 60$ for standing behind you (as a performer, not an observer) reading music over your shoulder and not turning the pages when it's time. Good gravy, man, you're sightreading this too! You need to see the next material! Why are you not turning the page?????????????????

Personally I'd like to charge more than that for Erlkönig and perhaps an extra $10 for each notch up on the metronome. But I'd also add a hefty fine for finger clicking by a singer (as mentioned in the OP). It's beyond annoying. A singer once asked me did I mind if she tapped her tempo on my shoulder as I was sitting playing! (I suppose I should be grateful she asked and didn't just start doing it!)
