After I splurged on my newcoming Kawai CS7 I need to find a pair of decent headphones.
I stumbled across the Sennheiser HD201 today for 23 euros....price is tempting, should I get it?
any experience with this model on Kawai DPs?

It depends on your price range. The Sennheiser's are very comfortable to me and tend to stay cooler than most Sony's. If you aren't looking to go high-end, I'd say go for it!

I'd stay away from cheap headphones. You start to get into the good territory as you approach $100 (75 euros).

+1.

There are lots of "headphone" threads already on this Forum. Choice is very personal. "Balanced tone" is subjective, but it's what you want to buy.

Several "information" websites have been recommended (and trashed!):

www.goodcans.com

www.head-fi.com

are two you might look at. I trust "goodcans.com" more.

I'd avoid those cans, as they surely rise the mids, and Kawai's tone is bright enough without any help smile
I second what otherws said: go for some 80€ headphones at least.
HD 558 are a good option, but there are lots of them with a near-to-flat response and dettachable wire.

should i stay away from them.? the reviews they get on amazon are very good though, but i guess they are written by people who use them to listen to music from other devices other than DPs.....
anyone else had experience with the HD201?

I have a pair of HD201's and they are not bad headphones, they just aren't high end cans. If you are willing to spend $100 on headphones, your ears will thank you. But they are still darn good headphones at the pricepoint.

Emiliano,
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 598 and they are really great. Many users here recommended them when I asked around some time ago. With such a fantastic digital piano that you purchased I suggest you take your time and find a good pair of headphones that will meet your expectations.
