My next choice is an organ selection by J.S. Bach, "Great' Prelude & Fugue in G major BWV 541".

I don't know if I'll have enough time to learn some of the wonderful piano compositions of Joseph Haydn. I've got plenty of things on my plate to learn over the next few years. Fortunately, we can enjoy the performances of the pros like Vladimir Horowitz. Here is his performance of "Piano Sonata in Eb" Enjoy!

Wow, Griffin — I could listen to organ fugues all day! What an absolutely beautiful pipe organ. I love the way it's sort of built into the wall. [mentally building my dream house with built-in piano and sound system]

Time for some choral music, and it comes from this side of the Atlantic. My next choice is an African American spiritual performed by the Moses Hogan Chorale. There is a slight distortion near the end of the recording. However, I have no trouble getting past the few seconds of this. Especially when I'm moving to the music! Also, it's too bad we don't have a clear image of this wonderful choir. However, it's all about the music here, right? smile Enjoy!

This will be my final post for today. It's another spiritual arranged by Moses Hogan. Here, Hogan gives a short introduction to his arrangement of "The Battle of Jerico." The group performing is the Nathaniel Dett Chorale.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Great postings, all ! The Haydn piano sonata was beautiful, Griffin, when you learn it, come play it on my piano!

Not meaning to detract from the classics, but...that Leaping Lizards song (was that the name of the group, can't recall) really, REALLY reminded me of this one- anyone else note the similarities (with Money) or am I hallucinating ? (no drugs, promise).

I agree with Sandy. This was fun. That's why I hang out here. I get to hear things I otherwise wouldn't have as much of a chance to hear on my own! Thanks!

Griffin, according to the youtube poster, it was recorded for the Culture Show which apparently is a BBC program. I don't know who Hugh's backups were.

Loved the Haydn, Griffin. Learned one E minor Sonata years ago. Might have to dust off the book and have another crack at it - will need to clock up some serious hours on Hanon and Pisna first though.

That's great Sandy. Just what i was feeling on a wet and windy Monday. Talented guy - Enjoyed him alot on Blackadder. I just watched a whole heap on youtube.
As you mentioned the blues i wanted to share some Stevie Ray Vaughan. Can't help but get the ol' air-guitar off the rack with this one.

Yes. Sparse arrangement. Almost 'spoken' vocal. Very eighties. (I have one of my own with a spoken vocal from those days).

I saw this band on Later with Jools Holland (arrives on our screens long after UK) and really like them. I like the quirky arrangements and instrumentation.
